My name is Honey Lee and I am the School Counselor here at Blackburn Elementary. I attended and graduated from Catawba County Schools. I received my BA degree in Religious Studies from UNC-Charlotte and my MA in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University.
I am passionate about working with children of all ages and will do my best to help all my students individually, socially, and academically while creating positive relationships with them. I am an advocate for diversity, accepting differences, and providing an open and safe environment for all students.
On my free time, I enjoy lounging at home, playing music on the guitar and singing.

School Counselors work in partnership with the school staff, parents, and the community to help students have a more positive and successful school experience. The primary focus of the school counseling and guidance program at the elementary level is prevention. School Counselors work with ALL students and our goal is to help empower students with self-knowledge, positive interpersonal skills, and coping strategies for the issues that elementary children typically face.

The mission of the Blackburn Elementary School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmentally sensitive counseling program, that aligns with the school mission, to support the academic, career, personal, and social growth of all students. Working with students, families, school staff and the community to maximize student potential and academic achievement, counselors are professional education advocates who work to ensure that all students are prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to not only succeed but thrive as a member of society.
