ART7 & ART8
This is a semester long course that is designed to introduce and strengthen student’s artistic skills and knowledge. This course will include projects and daily activities that will boost students critical thinking skills and artistic ability. Class participation is important in the art classroom. As a class we will learn about many different art mediums, styles and processes, as well as art history and current happening in the art world. When students are not in the classroom they will have projects to work on at home. We will focus on pacing goals for each week with every project. All communication will be through google classroom. Students will be graded on class assignments, art projects and their sketchbooks.
This course is a year long visual arts course that focuses on the young artist as a whole. This course will help students begin creating an art portfolio to carry with them into future endeavors. Students will work in the studio to create 2D works of art such as self portraits and landscapes painting as well as 3D sculptures using recycled materials, clay, cardboard, and or found objects. Students will complete an artist study on an artist of their choosing. Art7 is a prerequisite for this course as well as the recommendation of Mrs. Banary.
