What a special way to celebrate the end of another successful school year! These five talented singers - four from Bandys High School and one from Challenger Early College High School - performed the National Anthem at the Catawba County Schools End-of-Year Employee Celebration. Though they have recently graduated, they graciously returned to share their gifts and represent our schools with pride.
Pictured with Ms. Keisler, Choral Director at Bandys High School, these outstanding young musicians exemplify the talent, leadership, and dedication found throughout Catawba County Schools. They are shining examples of why our students are truly diamonds, helping our school system sparkle both on and off the stage.
The BHS Choir & Handbells program proudly celebrated its 1st Annual Awards Banquet, recognizing the hard work, dedication, leadership, and musical accomplishments of our students throughout the 2025–2026 school year. It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter, memories, and appreciation as students, families, and supporters came together to honor the outstanding achievements of our singers and handbell musicians. From performances and competitions to service and leadership, this year has been one to remember, and we are so proud of all that our students have accomplished. Congratulations to all of our award recipients, and thank you to everyone who helped make this special night a success!
Congratulations to Brody A., who was selected for the 2025 NC High School Honors Chorus! After an incredibly competitive audition process, Brody will join the best singers from across North Carolina in November to rehearse and perform at the NC Music Educators Conference. We’re so proud of his hard work and talent!
In November 2024, the Bandys High School Mixed Choir had the distinct honor of performing at the North Carolina Music Educators Association Conference. This marked a historic milestone, as it was the first time a performing arts group from our school had been featured at this prestigious event. Selected as one of only three high school choirs from across the state, our students delivered a performance that was a true highlight for both our program and our school community.
Congratulations to these outstanding students on this remarkable achievement!
Congratulations to the students selected to participate in the Mars Hill University Choral Festival! Being chosen to represent Bandys at the clinic in February at MHU is a great achievement. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow musically, meet other talented students, and work with experts in the field. Best of luck to them as they prepare for the festival!
