Sense of urgency - first grade reading proficiency is predictive
What do you results say; and, what are we going to do about them?
Begin by completing Part 1
You will start by logging in to your early literacy screener NAMED at the top of your document.
You’ll need to locate your Grade 1 EOY 2026 results & then record them for each measure listed in the document.
Work as a team to ensure the data is accurate and complete.
Then move directly into Part 2 as a team.
In Part 2, you’ll work in two sections.
The first column focuses on Reflection on Your Results.
Use your data to understand your outcomes. How close you are to 80% proficiency and what is the gap?
Then look across your results to identify where outcomes are strongest and weakest and what patterns you notice.
What do these patterns suggest about instruction on your campus?
The next two columns focus on identifying and leveraging your outcome makers. Shift from what the results are to who in your system is already getting the strongest grade-level mastery results.
Outcome makers are teachers with the most students exiting 1st grade at or above grade level proficiency.
Look at your 1st grade classroom outcomes and identify the teacher or teachers whose students are getting the strongest results.
Then consider... What are those teachers doing to deliver the strongest outcomes in your system; and, What can you implement quickly to extend their success? We’ve listed a few ideas and left space for you to add others.
