Goal 3: 2.1.1 The Teacher-Librarian includes a carefully curated collection of current materials in a variety of formats, including curation of open educational resources (OER) that are uniquely suited to support inquiry learning and the needs and interests of all users.

I will nurture a culture of literacy by cultivating readers and building my collection of resources based on the need and curriculum standards.

I will continue with the library collection analysis that supports curriculum areas as well as weeding at least 5% of collection as a refresh

Reflection:

I continuously evaluate our collection to make sure it meets the needs of the patron. Collection development is an important part of an effective program.
I introduced a google form for suggestions last year. I continue to promote the use as student suggestions will generate more readership.
I continue to use social media with Twitter as my main tool. I have an instagram and Facebook page for the library. I'd like to do more with instagram.
Connect with teachers through PLCs but work directly with subject area coordinators to determine point of need ideas that will support curriculum and content areas.
Next year, I would like to introduce a student group to help with purchases for the library. We have several areas that don't circulate but with some clever book displays they have moved more this year. We have some "customers" who are regular visitors to the library. I think they would appreciate having more of a voice in the collection development and selections.
Continue using LibraryTrac for booking of spaces by individual teachers.

- Include surveys at the beginning of the year with very specific needs
- I will encourage students to synthesize information looking for authentic evidence and details to determine the authenticity of the information.

Students feel welcome and appreciated in the CUBE library. The welcomed addition this year is the Cafe Connect with the opening up for Breakfast. Next year, there will be an app for ease in ordering to-go beverages. I believe this has helped to continue to upward trend of book circulation.

Continue to create more signage driving "business" for self-selection and also makerspace opportunities.

Collection Analysis

A current collection analysis indicates our age of our collection is increasing which is a good thing. We are weeding on a consistent rate. Moving dated & non-circulated items out of the collection. Also using data to determine items that no longer represent our community. Our collection does have a nice split between fiction/non-fiction.

One activity we have used to promote our library collection this year is "Dynamic Shelving" which includes more marketing of series, authors, and even topical collections.

Library statistics Year over year have been interesting. Even with the reduction of self-selected independent reading being elimated after the first 9 weeks, students found their way to the library. I hope this changes next year, but even so, readers are going to read and find their way to the library. I would like to see how to promote better usage of the library including working with the ELAR department for more scheduled time in the library.

LibraryTrac is used for students to sign-in to the library and to acknowledge the purpose of their usage. This allows me to notice any trends as well as identify students who need supplemental aide for projects, etc. Teachers can view availability of the Library spaces including conference rooms. The calendar also allows me the opportunity to aide in conversations about possible collaborations, library resources available to support curriculum, etc. LibraryTrac is a fee based software, but it has proven the nominal cost benefits.
