Module 1
Module 1
There are various ways to identify problems to solve using design. Here are four helpful methods:
Community Engagement
Ask people questions to learn about challenges they may face. Some questions you can ask and take notes on: What is something the frustrates you? What is something that inconveniences you? What do you need or care about?
Brainstorm
Think about what problems you face in your day-to-day life. Sometimes it can be the little things that bother us. This might require going through your daily routine to notice issues. Write down everything you can think of and prioritize quantity over quality.
Research
Are there any pressing issues that have been brought up in the news or in videos you have seen? This method requires doing some research. Feel free to explore articles, your local news papers, or online videos.
Existing Solutions
Sometimes amazing designs come out of re-designing already existing solutions. Analyze products that you think can be renovated. Write down notes on what specifically could use an upgrade.
