A Level WJEC Mathematics at Castell Alun High School

Welcome to A Level Mathematics at Castell Alun High School, where ambition meets expertise. Our WJEC Mathematics course is taught by a team of highly experienced specialists in Pure Mathematics, Statistics, and Mechanics, each committed to helping you achieve your full potential.

This course builds directly on the knowledge and skills developed at GCSE, deepening your understanding of core concepts while introducing exciting new areas of mathematics. A strong foundation in algebra, geometry, and number work is essential, and we’ll help you strengthen and extend these skills as you progress through the course.

At Castell Alun, we set high expectations for all our students. To succeed, you’ll need to:

• Dedicate time to independent study, including regular review of classwork, completion of homework, and preparation for assessments.

For those with a particular passion and aptitude for mathematics, exceptional students may also have the opportunity to study WJEC Further Mathematics alongside the standard A Level. This advanced course offers a deeper exploration of mathematical theory and is ideal preparation for competitive university courses and careers in STEM fields.
