Vision - That all Learners of all abilities develop confidence, interest and enjoyment in mathematics.

Our aim is to support learners to become mathematical thinkers who embrace the challenge of exploring and solving mathematical problems. We will encourage them to be curious questioners, capable of engaging with mathematics in new and unfamiliar contexts by developing strong mathematical habits of mind. These habits will be rooted in the five proficiencies

Our curriculum provides frequent opportunities for students to explore mathematics through both individual and collaborative problem-solving, in both abstract and practical contexts. We will support learners in building numerical and algebraic fluency, combining teacher-led instruction with exploratory approaches. As they delve into mathematics, they will make connections between concepts using concrete, pictorial and abstract representations and develop to ability to relate their knowledge and skills to everyday life. 

In all lessons, behaviour for learning is grounded in the CAHS values of respect, determination, and honesty. We believe that treating others with kindness and consideration is essential for creating a positive and supportive environment, where everyone feels valued. Determination drives us to persevere through challenges, remain focused on our goals, and continually strive for improvement, even when faced with setbacks. Honesty is the cornerstone of trust and integrity, encouraging open communication and accountability in all our actions.
