Activity 3: Investigate the effect of 'Spread in the Population'

This time we are going to take repeated samples from two different populations. The variable we are looking at is the students height.

One population, 'All Year 11's at a high school', has a small spread (most year 11's are a similar height). The other population, 'All students at a high school', has a larger spread (a wide range of heights from Year 9 to 13).

Open the class spreadsheet and.....

1. Take 3 different samples of size 100 using the 'Year 11' tab to the left. For each sample, add the Sample median (rounded to 1 dp) to the 'Year 11' column on the class spreadsheet.
2. Repeat for the 'High school' population.
