It is our goal to provide each applicant with a positive educational experience as we select the most qualified candidates for the RA position. The application and selection process has been designed to help us to get to know you as an individual and evaluate your potential as an RA as well as to help you learn as much as possible about the RA position.
Residence Life will host several sessions that will give you information about what it means to be an RA, what we’re looking for in a candidate, and tips on the selection process. While not mandatory, these sessions provide an excellent orientation to the RA position and the RA selection process.
Visit the Office of Residence Life CampusGroups Events page to view dates, times, and locations for all upcoming Information Sessions
All new RA candidates will need to submit an online application, which includes uploading both a resume and answering several short essay questions.
The Resident Assistant Application opens Mon, Dec 7, 2020 and closes Fri, Feb 5, 2021 at 5:00 pm ET. Candidates for the Summer 2021 or Academic Year 2021-22 position will apply using the same application; please note that each process has a different timeline and qualifications.

As you take part in the RA Selection Process, we know that many of you will be developing a resume and going through a competitive interview process for the first time. Post-Grad Planning and Experiential Education offers excellent support and resources that could help you make the most of your interview. We recommend reviewing your resume and learning more about effective interview skills by visiting virtual Drop-in Hours. The office also provides interactive workshops and opportunities to practice your interview skills.
It is recommended that you dress professionally for the individual interview and business casual for the interview. Please note, however, that you will not be evaluated on your attire and we do not expect you to purchase anything new for your interview.
