November & December 2025
The 2026-2027 FAFSA (Federal Application for Federal Student Aid) is now open! This is ahead of the scheduled October 1st opening and is the earliest launch in FAFSA history.
As a reminder, the Indiana state FAFSA deadline is April 15!
In 2018, alumnus Michael Bloomberg's landmark $1.8 billion gift to Johns Hopkins University established one of the most competitive undergraduate financial aid programs in the country, enabling us to eliminate student loans from our financial aid offers and meet 100% of demonstrated need for all students.
Building on what was already a premier financial aid program, we are providing students from low- and middle-income families with a new tuition promise program. As a part of this change, we are simplifying our approach to make it easier for students and families to understand exactly what they’ll pay to attend Hopkins.
New Financial Aid Structure
Starting this spring, our undergraduate financial aid program will offer:
Free tuition for families earning up to $200,000.
Free tuition + living expenses for families earning up to $100,000, allowing students from these families to attend Hopkins with a $0 parent contribution.
Families earning above $200,000 continue to qualify for substantial financial aid. Even those with annual incomes exceeding $250,000 may qualify, especially when there are multiple children in college at the same time. The financial aid website includes FAQs and detailed information on the new program.
Our Continued Commitment
We remain steadfast in our belief that finances shouldn’t be a barrier to attending Hopkins and fully participating in the experience. For all students, we continue to meet 100% of demonstrated need, debt-free.
Here’s what that means for your students:
100% need met: We work with families to determine what they can reasonably contribute toward college costs. Whatever they can’t cover, we cover debt-free.
Debt-free: We don’t expect families to take out student loans when they attend Hopkins. Instead, their financial aid offer is designed to cover their college costs with Hopkins scholarships—money they don’t have to pay back.
We’re also need-blind for domestic students, meaning their need for financial aid isn’t considered in our admissions process. Our decisions are based solely on their achievements and potential.
Financial Aid Resources
We encourage all students to apply for financial aid, even if they think they might not qualify. As you support your students through the college search process, here are a few financial aid resources that may help:
Estimate Your Costs: for a breakdown of typical costs by income band.
MyinTuition Quick Cost Estimator: for a personalized ballpark estimate of costs.
Net Price Calculator: for a more precise estimate of what a family might pay.
Cost Comparison Worksheet: for help comparing estimates across universities.
If you have questions or want to know more, I encourage you to connect with your regional admissions counselor. Your students can also contact their dedicated financial aid adviser.
I wanted to let you know about an exciting new Lipscomb University scholarship opportunity specifically for students from Christian Academy Of Indiana.
Lipscomb believes that students from our school would thrive academically, spiritually, and socially in the Lipscomb community; they have allocated additional scholarships specifically for students graduating from Christian Academy Of Indiana. That means students graduating from Christian Academy Of Indiana who are admitted to Lipscomb University can receive an annual $5,000 Christian Education Scholarship, totaling $20,000 over eight semesters!
*Please note that certain students are not guaranteed to receive this award, such as student athletes and students pursuing dual admission academic programs.
It’s not too late for students to apply to Lipscomb by the December 1st Priority Scholarship deadline.
As you likely already know, Hanover offers a variety of generous scholarships - including an automatic renewable merit for all admitted students ranging from $20,000 to $36,000 - but we'd like to highlight our competitive awards as the deadline to apply nears.
Students already admitted and those who apply by December 15 are eligible for competitive scholarships ranging from $2,500 to full-ride awards.
For those interested in theatre or music (but not necessarily as their major), we invite them to bring their talents to Hanover and participate in these departments' productions to earn a $2,500 annual scholarship. Learn more about music and theatre at Hanover.
Anyone interested in learning more about creating change in their community and building leadership experience might be especially interested in our Social Justice Leadership Program, which is also attached to a $2,500 award. Learn more about the program here.
Finally, students planning to major in engineering should certainly check out our Spencer Scholarship, which offers two first-year students a full-ride scholarship. Learn more about our engineering program here.
All competitive awards require an additional form (and additional steps depending on the program) that must be submitted by December 15. Students who have yet to apply for admission must also do so by December 15 to remain eligible.
All scholarship links are made available to students once they've been offered admission.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is currently accepting applications for the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship, which provides up to $40,000 in financial aid to aspiring teachers.
“Many of us have a story about a great teacher who changed their lives for the better, and Indiana is eager to have more of these inspirational leaders in our classrooms,” said Dr. Katie Jenner, Indiana Secretary of Education. “The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship supports aspiring teachers by making college more affordable, so students can focus on their education and gain the knowledge and skills they need to make a lasting difference for Hoosier students.”
High-achieving high school and college students who plan to teach in Indiana for at least five years can receive up to $10,000 per year of college (up to $40,000 total) from the scholarship. Students must apply by February 28, 2026, via ScholarTrack.IN.gov.
To qualify for the scholarship, students must meet one of the following academic requirements:
Rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class OR
Have a top 20th percentile score on the ACT (25) or SAT (1120) OR
Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Now in its tenth year, the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship aims to strengthen Indiana’s teacher pipeline. Nearly 90 percent of scholarship recipients from the inaugural cohort are still actively teaching in an Indiana classroom or continuing their education beyond a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, a record-breaking 1,091 students applied for the scholarship last year, a 15-percentage point increase from the previous year’s record-breaking number of 945 applicants.
To continue earning the scholarship while in college, students must annually file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), earn at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and complete at least 30 credit hours. Additionally, current college students who apply must be able to use the scholarship for at least two full academic years.
The Commission will notify applicants of their scholarship status via email in April 2026. Visit Learn More Indiana for more information and follow #NextTeacher on social media to stay updated on scholarship announcements.
