You are the most important part of our team.
All students need coaching support and accountabillity.
Be an active participant in educating your student.
Communicate effectively with teachers and advisors. Read and respond to all emails requiring a response within 24-48 hours.
Help Students stay organized. Monitor student grades and progress in courses daily.
Provide motivation and support.
Have a backup plan for days when your internet is out, the primary learning coach is not available, or the student's computer is not working.
Learning Coaches, use your account to login each school day.
After you login, check your students schedule. Help your student make a plan to complete work that is due and attend required classes. Set timers if necessary.
Check back in throughout the school day. For younger students, you may be involved in each lesson. For older Middle and High School Students, you may be able to recheck at the end of the day or at defined checkpoints during the day. Here are some tips on your role as the Learning Coach.
Check your email each day. Reply when you have a question or if your student's teacher asks for a response.
You do not have to log attendance online at CASC. If you see this in any of the k12 instruction videos, you can disregard. Our system is set up to capture student work in the online school. Instead of logging attendance, be sure that your student completes work assignments in each course and attends required classes daily.
Keep up to date with all school activites.
