The Upper School Library challenges you to read 1 million words this school year!
The challenge starts on Monday, September 2, 2024 and ends on the last week of school.
Books read over the summer break don’t count unless it’s a book you are still reading.
You may count any kind of book as long as you read OR listen to it from cover to cover.
The dictionary only counts if you read it cover to cover
Graphic novels, picture books, religious texts, audiobooks, e-readers, etc., are all fair game.
You must finish the book for it to count. No counting books that are abandoned halfway through. This is because word counts are only supplied for the book as a whole, not broken down by chapter.
Progress will be tracked on our Million Word Challenge Board located outside the Upper School Library. Students who have completed the challenge before the end of the year will recieve a certificate and prize.
