Course Description: Mathematics framework for state of Tennessee in geometry.
Course Expectations: The student should be able to perform up to standards on EOC and have
appropriate gains in mathematics.
Text: Prentice Hall Geometry by Pearson
Materials: Books, workbooks, and graphing calculators will be provided for all in class work. Students
will be responsible for pencil, paper, and scientific calculator for all out of class assignments. A cheap
casio fx scientific calculator from Wal-Mart ($10-$15) or a scientific calculator on I phone will be
adequate for all non class assignments.
Technology: Graphing calculators will be provided in class, access to internet and laptops will be
provided as needed. Nothing higher than a TI 84 calculator will be allowed on test.
Course policies: Work will be assigned each day and will be taken up once a week and counted %30 of
grade. Must be done in pencil with problems and answers to get full credit on assignments. Test will be
%70 of grade. Work turned in late will be %10 off. Make up will be allowed to turned in up to 5 days
after absence and %10 off after that.
Classroom rules: Cell phones will be taken up at beginning of each class and returned at the end. If the
student chooses not to turn in if phone is seen by teacher it will be taken up and turned in to front office
to be picked up at end of school day. Be respectful to teachers, peers, and visitors. I try not to make
many rules just be on time, have respect, and act appropriately. Each case will be taken care of
individually.
Course outline: Class will be aligned with Tennessee standards and time will be spent on material to
have the student reach their highest gains possible and do adequately on the EOC.
