Many certifications or credentials are offered to the Carteret County Public School Career and Technical Education through the CTE classes and curriculum free of charge. These national recognized and industry standard credentials allow students to become marketable in current industry jobs without further training. These certifications allow students to provide proof of their knowledge and skills as they go on to further education or head into the workforce. These credentials make our student more prepared and valuable in industry jobs which affords them more opportunities in their current and future careers.

The ACT NCRC Demonstrates Career Readiness

When students join the job hunt, their job applications will mix with many others on the desks of employers. How can you help your students move their applications to the top of the stack? Give them the opportunity to earn the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate (ACT NCRC).

ServSafe Certification

ServSafe is a food and beverage safety training and certificate program administered by the U.S. National Restaurant Association. The program is accredited by ANSI and the Conference for Food Protection. Sanitation certification is required by most restaurants as a basic credential for their management staff.

This credential is offered free to all our students enrolled and have successfully completed Foods and Nutrition II and Culinary Arts I.

NCCER Certification

National Center for Construction Education and Research

Because training is written to an industry standard and credentials are portable, learners who complete NCCER training are equipped to meet the labor demands of employers around the world, enhancing their employment opportunities. NCCER ensures training is consistent through a process of program accreditation, instructor certification, standardized curriculum, national registry, assessment and certification.

This credential is available free to all students who have enrolled and have successfully completed competencies in Constructions Core, Carpentry I and Carpentry II courses.

OSHA Certification

OSHA certification is an official certificate of competency issued in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and represents the achievement of outcomes stipulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. OSHA training consists of around 10-30 hours and must be specific to the industry in which you work.

OSHA Certification ensures that the certificate holder is equipped to work towards a healthier and safer work environment. A certificate holder is able to monitor and report on workplace safety and ensure legislative compliance in the specific industry in which he or she works. OHSA certification is required by law in hazardous industries.

This certification is offered to all students who are enrolled and have successfully complete the required competencies in Ag Mechanics I, Health Science II and Construction Core.

FAA 107--Drone License

In order to fly a drone under the FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107), you must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA. This certificate demonstrates that you understand the regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely flying drones.

This certificate or license is offered to all eligible students (must be 16 years old) who have enrolled and successfully completed the required competencies in Drone Technologies I.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines .

This certification is offered to all students who have enrolled and successfully completed the required competencies in Health Science II.
