Mr. Jeffrey Danielson is a native of Brooklyn, NY, and grew up in Morehead City and Newport, NC, but now resides in Havelock, NC. As a graduate of West Carteret High School he received the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship. Mr. Danielson earned his BM and MM degrees in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mr. Danielson is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA), the American Choral Director Association (ACDA), and the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE). He served a two year term on the NCMEA Executive Board (2015-2017), as the Public Relations Chair for the NCMEA High School Choral Section (2017-2020), and served as the NCMEA District 2 President (2020-2021). As a member of the High School Choral Section, Mr. Danielson serves as an adjudicator for high school MPA Festivals across the state. He has also served as Vice President for the North Carolina Summer Institute in Choral Arts (NCSICA). Some of his honors include 2017-2018 WCHS Teacher of the Year, 2010-2011 Havelock Middle School Teacher of the Year, 2011 Craven County Schools Trailblazer of Excellence Award, and 2007 & 2009 Bright Ideas Grant Recipient. The 2025-2026 school year will mark his 20th year of teaching and 15th year at WCHS. Under Mr. Danielson's direction, the choirs have consistently earned Superior and Excellent ratings in Sight-Singing and Performance at MPA Festival. In his spare time, Mr. Danielson enjoys fish keeping, cooking, traveling, reading, composing/arranging music, and conducting all county clinics.
