Career Development Events (CDE's) are competitions that put students in a simulated work environment where students can test their skills that they have learned in the classroom. There are 15 CDE's that our state offers that students can sign up for. We normally do sign-ups for these events during our second chapter meeting. To look at the rules for the events click here.
CDE's allow students to work individually and as a team in real life situation from developing a landscape plan to fulfilling a wedding flower order. Click here to watch a video about CDE's and LDE's.
Leadership Development Events (LDE's) are events that develop students' college and career readiness skills through personal growth and premier leadership (i.e. resume building, public speaking, etc.). Our state offers 7 LDE's for which students can sign up. We normally do sign-ups for these events during our second chapter meeting. To look at the rules for the events click here.
LDE's allow students to compete in events that are individual or team events.
