2025-2026 Course Registration

Dear CHS Parents and Students,

Registration for the 2025-26 school year has begun and we want to make sure you are aware of the process for selecting courses for next year. The initial phase has occurred over the past couple of weeks as academic content area teachers discussed with students their future course plans. Taking into consideration their performance in their current course, each teacher made a course recommendation selecting the best fit for the student in that particular subject area.

We have attached our proposed course selections for next year. A listing of core academic courses by content area along with our elective courses organized by Pathway is provided. Please take time to review with your student. Students should note which courses are needed to complete their desired pathway and prepare to select at least three elective choices of interest. This information does not need to be returned; however, students may want to refer to the list when they select their electives on the dates below.

Between the dates of February 10 – February 14, we will assist students in selecting elective choices through the Student Portal. As students are deciding on elective choices, please keep in mind that two class periods must be available for all courses at the College and Career Academy (CCA). Also, some elective choices require prior authorization or an audition prior to enrollment and are indicated with an (*) on the attached elective information.

Once students have made their elective choices through the Student Portal, they will be able to view the course requests including both teacher recommended content area courses and electives chosen by the student. Parents will review the course selections, both core and elective, beginning March 14th. Instructions will be provided on procedures for approving the course selections and making changes to specific course selections. Parent approval is required by March 19th. Please understand that placement in the requested courses is not guaranteed and may be affected by master schedule adjustments, class size, and/or schedule conflicts.
