Joe Skinner is entering his 5th season with the Red Devils. Coach Skinner works with the catchers, corner infielders, hitters, and is the 1st base coach. Coach Skinner has served as head JV coach for the past 2 seasons.

He joined the Red Devils after a two-sport career in football and baseball at the University of West Georgia. At UWG, Skinner was a three-time All-Gulf South Conference selection as long-snapper in football and was recognized to the GSC Honor Roll as both a football and baseball player. As a baseball player, he hit .300 for his career, with his best season coming in 2021 when he placed among team and GSC leaders with a .330 average.

Coach Skinner prepped locally at Carrollton High School. During his senior season he was recognized 1st Team All-State as well as All-Area.

Coach Skinner, who earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Education from UWG, serves as a PE/Weight training teacher here at Bowdon High School.
