Barberstown Castle is located near Dublin in Straffan, County Kildare Ireland. It is about 35 minutes from Dublin for people who drive like they're in Dublin or under 15 minutes from Dublin for people who drive like they're in Donegal.
It is convenient from all parts of Ireland and is on the apex of the M4, M7, M1 and just 10 minutes from the M50 motorway.
As you enter the Castle from the road be very careful as the lane is quite narrow. There is plenty of free parking available.
Directions:
FROM DONEGAL:
Assuming you'll be on the M1, follow signs for the M50 Southbound. Join the M50 Motorway and continue to Junction 7 onto the N4/M4. You will go through M50 toll so be sure to pay that before 8pm the next day.
Travelling west on the N4/M4, take the Straffan/ Maynooth exit at another Junction 7. At the roundabout take your second exit onto the R406 (signposted Naas/Clane) and follow signs for Barberstown Castle. Go straight through the Barberstown Roundabout and take your first right turning into Barberstown Castle. Mind the narrow lane on your way in.
FROM DUBLIN CITY CENTRE:
Follow signs for the M50/N7/N4 Motorways from the Quays on the River LIffey in Dublin City Centre. Please note that the N4 becomes the M4. Travelling west on the N4 from Dublin City Centre, take the Straffan/ Maynooth exit at (Junction 7), then at the roundabout at the 2nd exit onto the R406 (signposted Naas/ Clane) and follow the signs for Barberstown Castle. Go straight through the Barberstown Roundabout and take your first right turn into Barberstown Castle.
FROM GALWAY
From Galway follow the signs to M6. From the M6 exit for the M4/N4 motorway. Exit the M4 motorway at Junction 7 for Maynooth/ Straffan. At the roundabout take the second exit signposted for R406 (signposted Naas/ Clane) follow the signs for Barberstown Castle. Go straight through the Barberstown Roundabout and take your first right turn into Barberstown Castle.
FROM THE SOUTH
Travelling North on the N7 take exit 7 for Straffan/Kill. Continue straight on the road following signs the signs for Straffan. Go Straight through Straffan Village and Barberstown Castle is the last Driveway on the Left before you reach a large Roundabout (Barberstown Roundabout).
