"Christian Service is essential to the Carmel experience because it gives students opportunities to help out those that are less fortunate than us. Yes, there are opportunities to help out at school, but the ones that really stand out to me are service to the less fortunate. I’ve been blessed with all that I have so giving my time to help others is really special to me. Without having opportunities through Carmel, I wouldn’t know where to go. While on service trips, not only do I get to impact people in need, but it’s also a good way to connect with fellow classmates and teachers. Additionally, the various service trips I’ve done have impacted me a lot because it made me really appreciate all of the little things in my life and it showed me that I enjoy helping others." ~ Daniel Wayman '23
"Christian service is an essential part of Carmel because it shapes us into good people while making a positive impact. I've completed my required Christian service, yet I still find myself volunteering for fun. By doing Christian service at various places throughout my years at Carmel, I have made friends and strengthened friendships. Serving the community gave me the opportunity to respect others while making myself known as a respectable and dependable person that others look up to as a leader. Service hours for me do not feel like a requirement, rather they are a fun opportunity for me to broaden my horizons." ~ Bridget McLoud '23
"Christian Service helps us to live out Carmel's core value of community, in the real world. Throughout my time at Carmel, Christian service has shown me just how much I can have an impact on the people in my community. Whether it be helping altar serve at my parish, making meals for children at FMSC, or assisting those in need at PADS, every act of Christian Service helps better the world around me. Christian service has revealed the deep love that my community has for me and the amazing impacts I can have when I love my community back." ~ Grace Conarchy '23
