Monday Week A lunchtime in MJ2 (Ms Pantry's classroom)
The Australia and New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge is an annual competition for students in Year 11. It is funded by the Australiasian Neuroscience Society. Winners of Round 1 progress to further rounds of the Brain Bee Challenge, culminating in the International Brain Bee World Championships.

In Book Club, we discuss all things books; from book-movie adaptations, to books themselves. Book Club is a club for anyone who enjoys books, reading, discussion (or really anything book related) to find people who also enjoy those things.

Chess Club is a social club for people of all abilities to play chess or learn to play chess. There is one competition a year at intermediate and one at secondary level for students to compete in.

Christian group is a place where you can express your faith and beliefs without feeling judged with leaders alongside you to support and uplift you along your faith journey. Some things we do in Christian groups are: Play games, do Bible studies, watch inspiring videos, have shared lunches, run fun activities involving arts and crafts as well as prayer time and connect groups where everyone can get into groups and share what’s on their heart. It’s about connecting with our mercy community and inspiring the girls to go out into this world ready to share the good news of Christ.

In Code Club we learn to code, draw with Wacom tablets, build and program robots and fly drones in a fun and friendly environment. Seniors can get NCEA DTE help and the chance to learn some advanced programming.

Crochet Club is focusing on sharing the skill of crochet. This club is intended for beginners to advanced crocheters. Allowing for people with similar interests to meet up and crochet together. This would be a great opportunity if you want to learn to crochet or you want to meet more crocheters. In Term 2 we will provide you service opportunities.

Debate club is for anyone interested in debating. It’s a great opportunity to develop your public speaking and critical thinking skills while having fun with your team.

Legal mooting allows students to take part in simulated court proceedings, where they will discuss and present their argument for a theoretical legal issue against an opposing counsel and before a “judge.” This club is ideal not just for senior students (Y11-13) interested in the legal profession, but all students looking to develop their public speaking and analysis skills while simultaneously having fun with their friends. There will be three moots held outside of school hours on the 9th of May, 23rd of May, and on the 6th of June, likely at Dioscescan school.
