Why Choose Carlsbad Seaside Academy?
Carlsbad Seaside Academy offers an independent study program that allows students to take core classes online while still being enrolled in their home high school. Whether you’re looking for a full-time alternative or part-time coursework to supplement your schedule, Seaside provides an alternative learning experience with personalized support. Depending on courses a student is enrolled in, students will attend in person classes 2-3 times a week, as well as meeting weekly with their Advisor to review progress. .

Incoming 9th Graders
If an incoming 9th grade family would like a meeting with Mrs. Payne to select courses (after meeting with the Principal) please email me to set one up: lpayne@carlsbadusd.net
Current 9th-11th Graders
Mrs. Payne will do course selection presentations on Monday and Tuesday 2/23 & 2/24 from 2-3 pm in Room 822 at CSA. Then, students can make a 1 on 1 appt. with her to help select courses for the next school year (click here for appointment availability). Students can then submit completed and signed CRF’s to their advisor or Mrs. Payne. If you are unable to attend an in person Course SElection presentation you can find it below, and watch before your course selection meeting.

Interested in Early College Credit?
An agreement between a local community college and high school where students are provided the opportunity to earn early college credit for their high school courses if they meet all requirements. Our Graphic Design CTE pathway course is articulated with Mira Costa Community College or Palomar College.
Earn early college credit and meet high school graduation requirements by taking Mira Costa College classes that are offered to our CHS students on our campus or online.
High school students can enroll in community college courses to start earning early college credit.
