Chamber Orchestra Auditions 2026

The Carlsbad High School Chamber Orchestra is the program's advanced string ensemble, designed for students with more significant playing experience. Membership is audition-based, requiring a strong commitment, for violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp, and piano. This ensemble focuses on developing advanced individual and collaborative skills by studying a challenging repertoire that includes both classical and modern compositions. Students in the Chamber Orchestra perform at various school and community events, like concerts and competitive festivals, representing the high level of musical excellence at CHS.

Auditions will take place on April 16th, 2026. Audition information and required material can be found below.

Step One: Fill out the 2026 CHS Chamber Orchestra Application by April 2nd, 2026.

Step Two: Download the audition material below and practice. Email Mx. Allen-Benes with any questions about the music or audition process.

Step Three: Attend audition on April 16th, 2026. Arrive to room 5103 at Carlsbad High School at least 30 minutes prior to your audition. You will sign in upon arrival and be shown where to go/where to store your belongings.
