The Carlsbad High School Chamber Orchestra is the program's advanced string ensemble, designed for students with more significant playing experience. Membership is audition-based, requiring a strong commitment, for violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp, and piano. This ensemble focuses on developing advanced individual and collaborative skills by studying a challenging range of repertoire. Students in the Chamber Orchestra represent the highest level of musical excellence at CHS. Chamber Orchestra Auditions will be on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026.
Check in for your audition in room 5103 at Carlsbad High School.
Check in at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled audition time.
You do NOT need to memorize any audition materials. You are encouraged to bring your sheet music in with you to your audition. You do not need to dress formal or in concert black.
Store your belongings and warm up in 5103. Before your audition time, a student helper will call your name and escort you to your audition room. Please stay in 5103 so you do not miss your audition call.
All auditions are BLIND, meaning you will not see the judge and they will not see you. To ensure the omission of bias, we ask that all auditionees do not speak during their audition. You will be escorted in/out of your audition room by a student audition helper and they will be there to assist you throughout the process. If you have a question or concern, communicate quietly with your audition helper and they will relay the message to the audition judge.
Audition results will be announced one week after the audition date.
