External Subjects can be ICF (Industry Curriculum Framework) courses that count towards the ATAR, or Board Endorsed Courses that do not qualify for an ATAR.

Cost - parent costs range from $700 - $2000 per year.
Pattern of study (Category A / B subjects; Board Developed Courses / Board Endorsed Courses)
Work load
Catching up on work (Students miss out on 4 - 6 periods of classes at school each week.)
Social disruption (Students feel ‘out of the loop’ when they miss classes and break times each week.)
