Dr. Abot is an academician dedicated to the teaching, training, and mentoring of engineering students and to the advancement of integrated sensing using carbon nanotube fibers. He published more than one hundred and sixty technical papers and has been serving as associate editor of the Journal of Carbon Research and in the advisory board or guest editor of Sensors, and the Journal of Composites Science. He served as principal or co-principal investigator in projects funded by NASA, the Department of State, the Department of Defense, Petrobras, and businesses. He served as the director of more than thirty doctoral and masters’ students. He has taught twenty-six different engineering courses and served as academic advisor to hundreds of mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering students. He is also the founder and chief technology officer of IntSensing, a company that provides sensing solutions to the private and public sectors around the world.
