Prof. Abot teaches engineering courses and leads a team of researchers dedicated to the study of carbon nanotube fibers and their development into sensors for aerospace, naval, energy infrastructure, biochemical and other applications. Prof. Abot collaborates on this research and other projects with colleagues in the USA, Brazil and Mexico. Prof. Abot has published more than 150 technical papers and serves as guest editor and in the editorial or advisory boards of several international journals. Prof. Abot also serves the School of Engineering in several academic areas including mentoring, recruitment, inclusion and international programs.
