The following databases are available to us through NOVELNY (New York Online Electronic Library), a state funded collection of databases and resources. If prompted for a password, or username and password, the username would be "nycdoe" and the password is "book123."
Gale Academic OneFile is a great starting point for research. It houses a broad range of texts for different academic disciplines, including but not limited to: Literature, Biology, Chemistry, History, Political Science, Economics, Criminal Justice, and Environmental Science.
Britannica Academic has access to articles, a dictionary, primary sources, biographies, research tools, and journals.
Gale Opposing Viewpoints focuses on contemporary issues with written representation for many perspectives and contexts provided.
Gale Primary Sources has different collections for primary source documents including those titled: Slavery and Anti-Slavery: A Transnational Archive, The Economist Historical Archive, Eighteenth Century Collections online, Nineteenth Century Collections online, Burney Newspaper Collections, Newsvault, and The Making of the Modern World. The password for access should be "book123."
Gale News will provide results from relevant news sources to aid your search.
Gale New York State Newspapers will choose results specifically from New York State newspapers, which is helpful if working on a project or research that is local.

NY Heritage provides digital collections relevant to history across the entire state of New York. You can explore by collection, contributor, and exhibits.
New York Historical Society and Museum offers some selected digital collections which you can browse and it is possible to refine your search by person, place, subject, or genre.
