The New York Public Library System is an integral part of library use in NYC. Please check out these instructions and links to obtain a library card if you don't already have one.
Your first option for NYPL virtual access is to download SimplyE and create a card through the application. Here are two how-to videos depending on device:
After you've completed your sign-up, you have access to all of the materials available through NYPL on the SimplyE app!
Your second option is a virtual application process which you can complete on an internet browser.
Additionally, both the BPL and QPL library systems also allow anyone who lives, works, goes to school, or owns property in New York State to get an eCard.
The BPL offers you an eCard by verifying your location - once you allow the webpage to locate you, you can proceed with an application and get a BPL eCard.
The QPL form has you input an NY address -- if you don't reside in NY, simply provide the address of the school. After completing the application you will have a QPL eCard.
