How is information from Mr. Gibson usually communicated? Through the Remind app. He will give you information on how to sign up for his class and receive the notifications.
How do I get forms for fundraisers? They can be found in the high school band room or you can print them from Remind.
Are fundraisers mandatory? No, it is up to you if you wish to participate. But remember, the profit you earn could be used towards the all weather uniform, shoes, etc.
If my child is in 8th grade, how do I get fundraiser forms to Mr. Gibson? During football season, your child can bring it to a band practice or to a game and put it it the designated box, otherwise they can be given to the middle school office secretary and she will forward them to Mr. Gibson. Please give her time to forward them-do not wait until the last day!
How much is the deductible? $100. However, if you volunteer from our list, you get a $25 credit and if you donate from our list, you get a $25 credit. You could reduce your deductible to $50.
Does everything on the donation list equal $25? We actually try to keep it under $25 to give you a break, but we do ask that if there is no amount of product listed, please try to get about $20 worth of that product.
Who should checks be made out to for fundraisers and deductible? Pine Grove Band Boosters.
Do I need my clearances to volunteer? To volunteer for a concession stand, you do not need your clearances. If you choose to be a bus chaperone, then you will need to submit your paperwork.
Everybody knows me and who my child is. Do I really need to send a note to the school to bring him/her home from a game or parade? Yes. A note is to be sent in no later than Wednesday before the event because it must be verified and approved by the office, not Mr. Gibson.
What are my responsibilities if I chaperone? For away games, you will need to check the students in for your bus both to (this involves making sure they are dressed properly) and from games and help at the halftime show. You are in charge of the students on that bus! For parades, you still check everyone in but also march along on the parade route to pick up any dropped music, mallets, etc, and make sure everyone is safe on the parade route.
Is there anything besides the football concession stand to volunteer at and donate to? There are a lot of events throughout the year that need volunteers and donations! Craft Show, Rock and Roll Christmas, Musical weekend, parades. We are busy year round!
My child is not participating in RNR Christmas or the Musical, but can I still volunteer at them? Absolutely! And that may take the pressure off of the parents who do have children participating and would like to see them.
My child is a senior. Do seniors still participate in the Memorial Day parades? Yes, they are still expected to be there.
Do I have to put together an entire basket for the craft show basket raffle? Only if you wish to! We have a suggested number of items to go in a themed basket. You can pick out items of your choice totaling about $20. We will then see what we get and put the baskets together. Some people also like to do a whole basket in their own theme!
I volunteered/donated, but still got charged my child's full deductible. Why? It is very important that you see the lead person to get marked off the list in order to get credit. Mr. Gibson can only go by the list given to him and the list can only be accurate if everyone signs off.
Is it really necessary for my child to be at every game? Absolutely! The show was created with a spot for everyone on the field. More importantly, it goes towards their grade. Remember, this is a class, not an extracurricular activity.
