Dear Parents, 10-11 2026
This week's Differentiated Reading Stories will be from Unit 2 Week 3. Look for the hard copy Tomorrow in the GO HOME FOLDERS!!! The digital copy will be below like last week. Please read through the story several times this week to build fluency and accuracy. Please do just ONE of the Comprehension Question sets and send it back to school with the packet on Fridays.. We still have too many students turning them in on TUESDAY. Please keep them home during the week to practice reading with your child.. You can also have your child READ ALONG with the MP3 files located below that go with the HARD COPY stories I send home. By having your child read along with the recording they will be gaining the reading skills of PROSODY (reading with feeling and emotion) speed and accuracy. Please give it a chance to help increase your child's reading levels. Thanks!
WE DID A LOT BETTER AT GETTING HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS TURNED IN DAILY AND ON TIME!!! THANKS! AS IS OUR POLICY: We will be doing a page in class each day Monday through Thursday. There is a MORNING MATH page we do together to make sure we all know the concepts. On the other side of the page is the HOMEWORK side. Please do this each night WITH your child and return it to school in the GO HOME FOLDER the next day. THANKS!!! Our pages for this week will be Educational Creations pages 28, 29, 30, and 31.. If your child is unable to attend school any day you may go to the CLASS WEBSITE TO GET THE DAILY PAPER, PRINT IT OUT, DO IT, AND RETURN IT TO SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING DAY! NO NEED TO GET BEHIND ON HOMEWORK!!! THANKS! October 19th is the end of the FIRST QUARTER. All math homework papers for the first quiarter should be turned in by this weekend to get full credit for them. A number of children are telling me they have a "FEW" math papers still at home,, and they haven't had time to get to them. Please lets try to get homework done the day it is assigned and turned in the next day. THANKS!

Please continue practicing recorders with the song file from the Class Web Page. It will be a valuable resource all year for the students to improve their recorder skills!

Please continue to have your children work on and complete book reports for our nightly reading. We have a contest going for who turns in the most reading book reports - $5.00 CASH!!!! - each month. THE BOOK IN THE BAGS are now in your child's possession!!! They can be read in class during spare minutes or changing times, and can ALWAYS BE TAKEN HOME AND READ AT HOME FOR READING MINUTES FOR THE MONTHLY CALENDARS AND FOR BOOK REPORTS!!!!! If you notice that your child has the same books for too long,, PLEASE HAVE THEM RETURN THEM TO SCHOOL FOR NEW TITLES!!! And remember I will be calling all parents on or about the 15th of every month to advise you of how many book reports are turned in or need to be turned in. This month I may skip the phone call since I should be seeing all of you at Parent Teacher Conferences this week!
