Dear Parents,                                                                                                                    January 11th, 2026

This week's Differentiated Reading Stories and the Spelling LIst are in the Links below.  Please remember to read the stories with your child each night to help develop their reading speed and fluency, and send them back to school on FRIDAYS!  The spelling words should be practiced nightly, either orally or written, whichever you prefer and whichever you think works best for your child to master the words.  THANKS!

Thanks to all of you who continue to send in the Math homework each day after we send it home.  That makes it so so much easier for me to track it when it is not late! Our Math Homework pages for this week will be from our Educational Creations Math Program, pages 71, 72, 73, and 74. IF for some reason you do not get the homework page home every day, Monday through Thursday, you can go to the CLASS WEBSITE on the Math Tab and print out the paper for the day!     Again....any questions... Please don't hesitate to call me! THANKS!

We have started a new month for Book Reports so I will be calling everyone after school on the 15th to let you know how many book reports your child has turned in for the month thus far and how many are needed for the month.  Thank you for your continued support of the Book Report Program.  If you have any questions about the continuation of this program please feel free to call me at 435-630-1217.  Thanks.

We are still missing 3 or 4 reading Calendars for the Month of December.  Students who do not turn in their Reading Calendars miss out on Fun Fridays and recesses.  Sorry I have to be so tough on this, but reading is that important enough for you child that we have to do whatever it takes to get them to read, including monitoring their reading time with the calendars.  If anyone has a better idea to get your children reading I AM VERY OPEN TO IT!!  Please remember the reading time on the Differentiated Stories can be used as reading minutes on the Calendar, and anything else that your children read!    Please remember at Castle Heights we do reading assessments on DIBELS at least MONTHLY, so we should be seeing reading progress if your child is reading nightly.  NO PROGRESS??? We can only assume there is not enough practice being accomplished at school as well as at home. Thanks.
