Dear Parents,
On this page you will find each math homework assignment that is started in school with the children during Math class and is to be completed at home as homework and then returned to school the next day. The math homework pages are saved here as a PDF file so that in the event your child is sick a day and has to stay home or misses school for any reason you may print out the paper at home, have your child complete it with help from you (second grade is a FAMILY PARTICIPATION YEAR - no need to sit your child at the table and say "do it on your own." WE ENCOURAGE YOUR HELP ON THIS!!!), and then send the paper with the child in his/her GO HOME FOLDER the next day he/she returns back to school. As homework assignments are returned to school they are graded and as quickly as I can they will be returned back to you so that you can monitor your child's progress. If you ever see a "SEE ME PLEASE" on a paper, this is NOT a message for you to see me, it is for your child to bring the paper to me for help with the corrections needed on the page to improve the score on it and to insure that your child understands the concept. If we correct a SEE ME PLEASE paper together your child will receive a higher grade - if they forget to bring the paper up to me for correction they will receive whatever grade they scored. That seems pretty fair to me - we are not here to fail children, just to make sure they understand concepts and move ahead. OK?
