FAQs

Graduation is being held on the football field. Why are we limited in how many family/friends can attend?

We are not using the entire football field for graduation. Graduates are seated on the track. Seating for family is in the bleachers which has limited seating. Everyone wants to be able to see their graduate walk across the stage and receive their diploma. That's difficult to do anywhere else except from the bleachers.

ETV livestreams graduation so that additional family can participate. No, it's not the same as being there, but it's a lot easier for people to really see and hear. Plus, more comfortable home seating and no need to find parking.

Why do we have two different colors of tickets? What is the difference between the "Priority" tickets and the "General" tickets?

School ends in May, and May in Utah is, shall we say, unpredictable. It could be hot or cold, sun or rain (and maybe even snow). Calm or windy. We just have no control over the weather.

In the event of inclement weather, we would have to move indoors. The auditorium has just over half the seating of the bleachers. Therefore, the yellow "Priority" tickets are good outside AND inside. Only yellow "Priority" tickets may be used if we move indoors. The white "General" tickets are only used for the outdoor venue where there is more seating available.

Yes, this means that not everyone will be able to attend graduation if we move indoors.

Why the change in caps and gowns?

With the completion of our new school remodel, we wanted to also build a new sense of unity. We are Carbon!

We also hope that having one style of cap and gown for everyone will make it more economical for families and easier to trade or share in the future.
