DRAMATURGY: Improvisation

On 22nd September, the team's resident dramaturg Alex Chisholm hosted an acting workshop to explore some of the backstory of our main character Qainaat Latif, as a foundation for motivations and drivers for the character.

Our performers, were guided by some broad story points, Alex's direction and our earlier worldbuilding work. 

Tarique was able to sketch out a loose layout of the spaces in which Natalie and Safiyya's characters would interact, which also informed how the virtual environment could be modelled.

Their improvisations also gave Alex and Tarique new ideas for story points and dialogue that could take the story in new directions and indeed the paths that might be taken through the story.
