CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH

As well as Asma's Belongings collection, Alex recommended Cut From The Same Cloth as background reading for development of our story.  With the Veil in our story representing an aggregation of female experiences and intuitions, Alex though that encoding some real life experiences would be a powerful statement and give authentic lived experiences a place in The Veil. 

Cut From The Same Cloth is an anthology of written pieces on pop culture,  anti-Blackness, faith and family, politics, education, creativity and working life written by twenty-one women, curated and edited by Sabeena Akhtar.

The diversity and range of stories is fascinating.
