Dr. Meiling Han is an Australian Research Council (ARC) DECRA fellow who is doing her research in antimicrobial resistance at Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute. She completed her PhD in antimicrobial systems pharmacology at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Science in 2018. Over the past four years, she has supervised 3 PhD, one master’s and one honours students to completion, and secured numerous grants and awards such as the Rod Rickards Fellowship from the Australian Academy of Science, the AINSE Early Career Research Grant, and the FMNHS Faculty Bridging Postdoctoral Fellowship. Recently, she was appointed as Vice Chair for the 2023 Gordon Research Seminar in Metabolomics (Italy) and Chair of the Science Communication Subcommittee at Monash BDI ECR Committee. She has also achieved a productive research output evidenced by 49 peer-reviewed publications (13 first and 2 corresponding author) in high-impact journals (e.g., Nat Commun, Nat Microbiol, Adv Sci).

Emma has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Monash University. Her work experience includes positions in consulting, education, research and business development.
Emma started her career at a medical consulting company serving big pharma on marketing and medical affairs after completing her Master study. Later she worked at university lecturing Pharmaceutical Science courses where she ran a research lab and supervised students.
Emma then moved to Australia to complete her PhD degree and then worked at an ASX-listed pharmaceutical company. Emma now is a business development associate at Monash University, supporting industry engagement and research collaboration.

Jacky is a Senior Commercial Strategy professional at a US Fortune 500 company. He has worked in top global companies including Daimler, Porsche, DiDi Chuxing in the past years both in Australia and overseas. Jacky is also a Career Strategist specialised in career coaching, Fortune 500 job application services, resume editing, mock interview techniques, job description analysis, career transition management, recruitment agency services and local internship opportunities.
Jacky has been coaching graduates and experienced professionals for more than 5 years. His mission is to help job seekers build confidence, understand local job market and interpret hiring mangers’ requirements. He was also an Alumni Mentor at Monash Business School since 2015. Jacky obtained his Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University and Master of Business Law at Monash University. He is also a qualified CPA.
Session Chair
Dr. Danzi (Daisy) Song is a biotech scientist and entrepreneur. Daisy obtained her PhD in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the University of Melbourne and her research interest is drug and vaccine development for the treatment of rare diseases. She is currently a research scientist at CSL, specialising in biologics formulation. Prior to joining CSL, Daisy has worked in several research institutes including Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Tokyo University. Her contribution in science has been recognized by multiple academic and industry awards including CSL Impact Award in 2019 and Science and Innovation Silver Prize in 2020. She was also the co-founder of a medtech startup and worked as the consultant of a venture capital firm. Daisy’s career ambition is to become a venture capitalist specialised in biotech and life science technologies.
