Night of the Twisters
A Tale of Tornados
A Tale of Tornados
Inspired by Night of the Twisters
The sky grew dark at suppertime,
A stillness thick, a shift, a sign.
The air hung heavy, strange and low,
A breath held tight—before the blow.
Dan heard it first—a freight train’s roar,
Not on the tracks, but through the floor.
The sirens screamed, the windows cracked,
The world turned black, the sky attacked.
The storm passed on, but left behind
A world in pieces, hearts entwined.
From twisted metal, broken trees,
Rose strength, and love, and memories.
Tornado’s wrath, so wild, untamed,
Left scars and silence, loss unnamed—
But through the storm, a truth rings clear:
In darkest winds, the brave appear.
