2026 Summer Reading Assignment
This summer, 6th grade students will explore the concept of values—How do peoples values influence their choice? Where do peoples values come from? How do people have different values?—through the book Inside out and Back Again, by Thanhha Lai. The story follows a young girl born and raised in Vietnam when her family has to flee the country after the Vietnam War ends. Characters are regularly making choices as their lives change based on their needs, values, and experiences.

The book is broken into four parts. After complelting each part, sutdents must answer the ONE of the two prompts provided for each part. Please hand write the answers on the attached document. Answer each question as neatly and as thoroughly as possible.
