CEHS offers one (optional) SAT exam to students every March.

CEHS offers an optional PSAT to students in grades 10 & 11 every fall. This is a practice exam intended to help students prepare for future SAT exams.
CEHS test date: Friday, October 10, 2025
The Grade 11 PSAT is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship (NMSC)
The ACT exam is offered as an alternative option to the SAT. Both exams are viewed equally by colleges.
The ACT assesses students' readiness for college-level coursework in English, mathematics, reading, and science, with an optional writing section. Some colleges require the writing section so check individual websites carefully.

According to the CEHS Beacon: "Students who take AP classes (except World Language levels V and VI) are required to take the AP exam in the subject. Students who need financial assistance in order to take the exams should contact Brandy Lapointe. Students who fail to take the exam will be given. Honors designation on their transcript and Honors weighting for the course."
