All committee members agreed to the following norms.
Respect each other’s time.
Start on time and end on time 5:30 pm to no later than 7:30 pm
Time allowed for each individual during group discussions. 5 minutes
Everyone is responsible for helping to stay on topic. Speak up if you feel like we’re getting off track.
Respect opinions and perspectives of others.
All voices count. All opinions are valid, but offer reasoning behind your thinking.
During IRC Committee meetings. No video or audio recordings
Outside IRC Committee meetings.
We will use voting as our decision making process.
Each person is responsible for ensuring they understand all points of view before making a decision.
Be willing to accept a team consensus even if you initially do not agree with it.
Be an active participant.
Ask questions for clarification to help avoid making assumptions

Do what is best for all students.
NORM #3: We will use voting as our decision making process.

RULES:
Each committee member has only one vote per item being voted on.
Committee members who complete the Checklist for Consideration of an Instructional Material will be allowed to vote per instructional material, either in-person, virtually or through the completed form
Committee members who attend a majority of the meeting vote will be counted if they leave their recommendation in writing.
Attending virtually will be available during the summer months.
If there is a tie, the decision will go to a sub-committee of 7.
The 7 member sub-committee will be chosen randomly from IRC committee members.
Sub-committee discussions and votes will be held in-person or virtually, depending on the availability of members.
The decision of the sub-committee will be communicated to all committee members.
PROCEDURES:
Once discussion has ended, the committee will be informed it’s time to vote.
“There is no further discussion. We will now take a vote.”
What is being voted on will be re-stated to ensure all committee members are fully aware.
“We are voting on…”.
Those in favor will be asked to hold their thumb up (“Thumbs Up”).
The votes in favor will be counted and recorded.
Those in against will be asked to hold their thumb down (“Thumbs Down”).
The votes against will be counted and recorded.
The results of the vote will be announced.
