Nurry Lee (Piano)

Nurry Lee is a South Korean-British pianist who performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician.

She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at the Royal College of Music, studying with Ian Jones, Sofya Gulyak, and Dmitri Alexeev, and was awarded the Milstein Award. She subsequently studied at Korea National University of Arts in Seoul with Jinsang Lee before completing her Artist Diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music under Graham Scott, supported by the FW Wright Piano Scholarship. Her competition successes include first prize at the RNCM Chopin Competition and the Piano House International Piano Competition.

Praised as a “wonderful pianist” by Emanuel Ax, Nurry has performed across Europe, the USA, Asia, and West Africa, including appearances on BBC Radio 3 with her piano trio, Trio Rouge. She has also returned to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York and is a Kawai Artist.

Joseph Barker (Cello)

Joseph Barker is a cellist active as both a soloist and chamber musician.  

He is a founder member of Quartet Concrète, winners of the St James Prize, and performs a wide repertoire across the UK and Europe. A committed advocate for community, he also founded the NOVA Festival in St Austell, now in its sixth year and recognised for showcasing emerging and established artists from across the UK.

His recent engagements include collaborations with the Brodsky Quartet and Guy Johnston, and performances at Conway Hall, Opéra du Rhin, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Joseph trained at Chetham’s School of Music and later at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, studying with Louise Hopkins.
