Myunghan Kim (Piano)

Myunghan Kim is a London-based pianist active as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator.  

She completed her Artist Diploma at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under Ronan O’Hora, supported by the Guildhall School Trust and the Stela Currie Scholarship, and began her appointment as a Chamber Music Fellow in September. She previously earned her Bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University under HieYon Choi.

Her recent competition successes include 1st Prize at the 2024 Beethoven Society of Europe Piano Competition and 2nd Prize at the 2024 Birmingham International Piano Competition. As the pianist of Trio Myrthen, she also won 1st Prize at the 2025 St James Chamber Prize and 3rd Prize at the 2025 Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition.

Myunghan performs regularly across London at venues including Wigmore Hall, Fidelio Cafe, St Mary’s Perivale, and St James’s Piccadilly. Recent highlights include her participation in the Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy in Norway.

Joseph Barker (Cello)

Joseph Barker is a cellist active as both a soloist and chamber musician.  

He is a founder member of Quartet Concrète, winners of the St James Prize, and performs a wide repertoire across the UK and Europe. A committed advocate for community, he also founded the NOVA Festival in St Austell, now in its sixth year and recognised for showcasing emerging and established artists from across the UK.

His recent engagements include collaborations with the Brodsky Quartet and Guy Johnston, and performances at Conway Hall, Opéra du Rhin, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Joseph trained at Chetham’s School of Music and later at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, studying with Louise Hopkins.
