Through the project's activities, we aim to achieve improvements in many areas.
International exchanges, joint workshops, presented applications and platforms will contribute to the development of digital competences.
Incorporating the digital tools learned into teaching will also develop students' digital literacy.
The project will provide opportunities for training on digital tools and for exchanging experience, which will involve more teachers.
Sharing good practices with partners and teachers in schools will increase teachers' motivation and confidence, thus contributing to the increased use of modern digital tools.
The objectives of our project are:
1. Improving teachers' digital skills for using interactive whiteboards, applications and platforms in their teaching activity.
2. Improving the competences of highschool students by increasing the number of hours with digitized teaching content in as many subjects as possible.
3. Developing partnerships at European level.
At each meeting the teachers from the host school, who participate in the project will hold demonstration lessons to show how interactive whiteboards can be effectively integrated into teaching as many subjects as possible. Also, at least 3 applications/platforms would be presented/taught to other participants. Thus, by the end of the project, the participants will learn at least 12 applications/platforms, who will then share their experiences and knowledge with their colleagues in their own schools. In addition, we would like to create a website for the project, where teachers who are actively involved in the project could upload the digital content created with the help of the applications/platforms they have learned, as well as their own digital content created for the interactive whiteboards. Each participating school is expected to contribute at least with 10 digital content/open educational resources (e.g. interactive materials, support materials for teaching-learning-evaluation activities, multimedia products, digital applications and games), so that by the end of the project will be 40 digital content/open educational resources, which he will be able to share with his colleagues in his own school and that will be accessible on the website for any teacher in the world. At the end of the project we would like to publish the products/contents in a book form.
Learning digital tools (digital whiteboards, apps, platforms) contributes to the development of digital skills and competences for teachers and students. As a result, new digital content is created and digital technologies and practices are integrated into the educational process. All of this contributes to manage digital transformation by developing digital readiness, resilience and capacity. At the same time we designed our project with environmental sustainability in the mind, as our main objective is to create digital content that can be used on a daily basis in education (e.g. multimedia products, interactive learning materials) and in evaluation (e.g. Redmenta, Socrative), thus reducing paper use and contributing to the protection of our environment and developing environmental awareness in students. We have also focused on contributing to inclusion and diversity. The access to and use of digital technologies can help to reduce the learning gap between pupils from advantaged and disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. Personalised teaching techniques increase the motivation of students by focusing teachers' efforts on each individual student.
Making school more attractive will reduce the early school leaving rate.
BENEFITS OF THE PROJECT
Transnational cooperation is essential to achieve our project’s objectives. Each participant has a different contribution to the success of the project. Our Portuguese and Italian partners have a lot of experiences in Erasmus projects, they are working a lot with European projects Erasmus KA2 and Erasmus KA1 in order not only to adopt innovative methods with the aim of developing a culture of initiative, entrepreneurship and self-employment, but also to allow teachers and students a refinement of organizational and interpersonal skills.
The Portuguese partner school – Agrupamento de Escolas À Beira Douro - Medas – , has been awarded the eTwinning School Label 2020-2021 title, which will help to make our project a success with good practices.
Our Turkish partner is Buca Fatih Sultan Mehmet Anatolian High School. They have a very performant school equipped with smart board in each classroom. They have 3 IT teachers, one of whom is responsible for smart boards. They also also have a computer lab. They use smart board applications with EBA (Educational Information Network ) which is an online social educational platform started its publication life within the scope of the FATİH Project (Movement to Increase Opportunities and Technology ) in education. It aims to enable the integration of technology into education by using information digital tools and supporting efficient use of materials. The EBA portal presents every kind of digital content such as: educational applications, e-courses, e-books, e-documents, audio-visual documents, e-magazines, news etc. produced by experts, teachers and students in order to strengthen the integration of education with technology. Whith their experiences they can show us how can we collaboratively work with peers and our teacher colleagues and how we can elaborate digital materials and integrate them in the educational process. In our Turkish partner group there is an art teacher who has developed a mobile art education app called "I am a Painter too" for special education classroom visual arts lesson. Her goal is to expand this app and to design and realize mobile art app designs for high school students/special education students. She uses the program called story line which is very easy to use because its software is like a PowerPoint program. We hope that she can share with us her knowledge and experience, so we will also be able to realize mobile apps for our subjects. The transnational cooperation within this project will help us to search new opportunities and developments brought by digitools technologies into teaching and learning roles. These innovative tools will encourage us and our teacher colleagues to share our thoughts and experiences.
