Hi, I'm Ms. DeMaio! I am entering my seventh year of teaching Social Studies on Team Hybrid. In addition to teaching, I am the co-advisor of Student Council and founded the We Speak club at CMS. I grew up in Darien, CT and currently live in West Hartford. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Connecticut. I graduated in 2017 with my Master's of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education. In the fall of 2016 I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to study and teach abroad in Nottingham, England. I spent the fall semester studying British history, learning the English school system, and exploring 7 different countries across Europe! It was an amazing experience. Most recently, in July of 2022 I completed my Sixth Year Degree in Social, Emotional & Academic Learning for Social Justice Leadership and received my 092 Administration Certification from Sacred Heart University.
Outside of teaching, I love anything to do with softball and baseball. I come from a family of diehard Yankee fans and I've played softball all my life. I played club softball at UConn, and coached travel softball for several summers. I also love going to country music concerts, the show FRIENDS, and anything chocolate!
