The guides below are designed to be quick references for a variety of PowerSchool-related topics, including getting started, recovering account information, and adjusting email notification settings.

If you have any problems logging into the system or adding a student, please submit your issue on THIS GOOGLE FORM. A member of our tech team will respond back within 48 hours.
Prior to logging into PowerSchool to access student grades and other information, parents and guardians must first create an account.
Open your web browser and navigate to https://cantonsd.powerschool.com/public
Click on the "Create Account" tab.
Enter the required information under the "Parent Account Details" section of the page. (Please note that the e-mail address that is entered under this section will be used for receiving notifications, including those necessary for account recovery, password changes, etc.
Under the "Links to Student Account" section of the page, you will be asked to enter the name, Access ID, and Access Password for each of your students. This information will be provided by your child's school.
Once you have finished filling out the form, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the blue "Enter" button on the bottom right side of the page.
You should then receive a verification email containing a link to sign into PowerSchool for the first time. (Please note that this link expires 24 hours after having received it, but a new one can be requested if needed.)
After clicking on the link that was contained within the registration email, you will be taken to a PowerSchool Login screen where you can enter your username and password to sign in to view your child(rens)'s student information.

If you have successfully created a PowerSchool Parent/Guardian account, and wish to add another student, please see the following steps:
Step 1. Open the internet browser on your computer.
Step 2. Type cantonsd.powerschool.com/public into the address bar.
Step 3. Enter your Username and Password and click sign in.
Step 4. On the left side navigation panel, click Account Preferences.
Step 5. Click on the Students’ tab
Step 6. On the right side of the students’ page, click Add.
Step 7. Enter the Student Access Information. The Access ID and Access Password can be found in your original Action Required! - Your PowerSchool Parent/Guardian Access Information email.
Step 8. Click OK
Step 9. Complete steps 7 & 8 for any other student you have.
Step 10. You should now see your newly added student(s) on the portal.

If you have forgotten your PowerSchool username, the process below can be used to recover it.
Open a web browser and navigate to https://cantonsd.powerschool.com/public
Click on the "Forgot Username or Password?" link located just beneath the Parent Sign In" form.
Click on the "Forgot Username?" tab.
Enter the email address that you used to create your PowerSchool account.
Click on the "Enter" button, which will send an email to the provided address containing your PowerSchool username.
If you have forgotten your PowerSchool password, the process below can be used to recover it.
Open a web browser and navigate to https://cantonsd.powerschool.com/public
Click on the "Forgot Username or Password?" link located just beneath the Parent Sign In" form.
Click on the "Forgot Password?" tab.
Enter the username and email address that you used to create your PowerSchool account.
Click on the "Enter" button, which will send an email to the provided address containing further instructions on recovering your password.
The "Email Notifications" page provides you with the ability to manage your parent account email preferences, including what information you would like to receive, how often you would like to receive the information, and any additional email addresses that you would like the information sent to. Email preferences may be applied to a single student or all students associated to your parent account.
On the start page, click Email Notification from the navigation menu. The Email Notifications: [Student Name] page appears.
Use the following information to enter information in the Contact Information section:
Account Email: The email address associated to your parent account. The selected information, as well as account recovery notices and account changes confirmations will be sent automatically to this email address.
Select this checkbox if you would like to receive the information from the following fields:
Summary of Current Grades (Secondary only) and Attendance
Detail Report Showing Assignment Scores for Each Class (Secondary only)
Detail Report of Attendance
School Announcements
Balance Alert
Use the following information in the Frequency section:
How Often?: Specify the rate at which you want to receive the selected information from the pop-up menu:
Never, Weekly, Every Two Weeks, Monthly, or Daily
Apply These Settings to All Your Students?:
Select the checkbox to apply the email preferences to all students associated to your parent account.
Send Now for [Student Name]? - Select the checkbox to receive the selected information immediately.
Click Submit. The Email Notifications: [Student Name] page appears. A confirmation message appears indicating the changes were saved.
