Private Lessons

Private lessons provide the most effective instruction for learning. Music teachers can design instruction that meets the specific needs and interests of each student. Piano is recommended for all students in grades 2-12. Voice is recommended for all students in grades 7-12.

• 30 minute private lessons: Recommended for all beginner students or students new to lessons

• 45 minutes private lessons: Recommended for intermediate students

• 60 minute private lessons: Recommended for any advanced students.

Teachers 

Ryan Van Fleet is a Boston-based baritone, voice teacher, and music educator whose career bridges performance, pedagogy, and contemporary vocal styles. He holds degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Boston University and a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he studied classical and musical theatre cross-training to develop a deeper understanding of the voice and helping singers use their instruments with greater flexibility, efficiency and artistic freedom. Ryan has taught choir and private voice at institutions including The John D. O’Bryant School, the Brooks School as well as at various music schools throughout the Greater Boston Area. He has studied voice and opera with world-renowned faculty at the Tanglewood Young Artist’s Vocal Program and the “Si Parla, Si Canta!” program in Arona, Italy. An avid choral musician, he has performed with ensembles such as the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and currently serves as a Choral Fellow for the First Baptist Church of Medford. He frequently appears as a soloist in oratorio and choral works including Duruflé’s Requiem, Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ and as a contemporary vocalist at the Tanglewood Music Center in the premiere of a new work. Ryan has extensive experience with Pop and R&B vocal styles through his work in contemporary a cappella. At Boston University, he directed a coed ensemble for three years before performing with an award-winning group at Berklee, Upper Structure, where he received recognition as part of the 2023 “Best Rhythm Section” at the LAAF competition. He has contributed to acclaimed a cappella recordings and completed coursework in Contemporary Vocal Production at Berklee. As an educator, he blends science-based pedagogy with creative, playful exercises to help students find freedom, balance, and confidence in their singing. 

Michael Donovan attended the Berklee College of Music studying Piano Performance. He is the bandleader, composer, arranger, manager for KNMR&WST, a Boston based organ trio that features a variety of musicians throughout the New England area. He is also a Hammond Organ technician for the Boss Organ Shop.
