Private Lessons
Private lessons provide the most effective instruction for learning. Music teachers can design instruction that meets the specific needs and interests of each student. Piano is recommended for all students in grades 2-12. Voice is recommended for all students in grades 7-12.
30 minute private lessons: Recommended for all beginner students or students new to lessons
45 minutes private lessons: Recommended for intermediate students
60 minute private lessons: Recommended for any advanced students.
Teachers
Ryan Van Fleet is a Boston-based baritone, voice teacher, and music educator whose career bridges performance, pedagogy, and contemporary vocal styles. A graduate of Boston University in Vocal Performance and Music Education and a licensed Massachusetts educator, he has taught choir, group piano, and private voice at schools including The O’Bryant School, Brooks School, Merry Melody Music Academy and the Amy Dancz Studio. He has trained at the Tanglewood Young Artist Vocal Program and Si Parla, Si Canta! in Italy, performed with ensembles such as the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and appeared as a soloist in works including Duruflé’s Requiem and as a contemporary vocalist at the Tanglewood Music Center in the premiere of a new work, Feeling One Stream. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a focus on Musical Theatre cross-training to deepen his understanding of the voice and how to guide students in using their instrument more efficiently. Ryan also draws on his experience in directing pop and RnB a cappella ensembles and coursework in contemporary vocal production. As an educator, he blends science-based pedagogy with creative, playful exercises to help students find freedom, balance, and confidence in their singing.
Yingqi Wang is a pianist and educator completing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln under Dr. Paul Barnes. Her doctoral document, The Integration of Western Compositional Techniques and Traditional Chinese Folk Music in Piano Works of Jianzhong Wang, reflects her expertise in cross-cultural musical synthesis. She also holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Syracuse University. She is committed to nurturing artistry, technique, and musical understanding in students of all ages. Her teaching approach blends strategies and methods for developing piano technique, inspiring curiosity and self-expression through music. As a performer, Yingqi has presented numerous solo and chamber recitals and participated in music festivals such as the Summer Piano Institute in Greece. She has extensive accompanying experience with instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs, and musicals, including the recent performance of Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical.
