The Ohio-Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools (OMACCS) is offering our 2026 LEADS! Scholarship program for Ohio & Michigan high school seniors graduating by Spring 2026! This year we are offering 147 scholarships at 16 Ohio and Michigan career colleges, totaling over $255,000, with FULL and PARTIAL scholarships available!
The DEADLINE to apply is April 17, 2026, and please review the attached material to determine eligibility requirements, application guidelines and eligible colleges & institutions and programs & courses! Refer to the Booklet for ALL requirements and eligibility criteria!

The Horatio Alger Scholarship is one of the nation’s largest need-based scholarship programs for high school students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, and a commitment to pursuing a bachelor’s degree. More than 600 scholarships are awarded each year — with awards up to $25,000.
Eligibility & Requirements (General Undergraduate Scholarships for Juniors & Seniors)
Who can apply:
• High school juniors and seniors in the United States.
General requirements include:
• Enrolled full-time in high school; juniors must be on track to graduate with their class and seniors must be graduating in the current academic year.
• Strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited nonprofit college or university in the U.S.
• Demonstrated financial need (family adjusted gross income thresholds are part of eligibility; often around $100,000 or lower, but some scholarships within the program may reference lower income levels).
• Perseverance and overcoming adversity — applicants must describe challenges they have faced and how they have worked to overcome them.
• Involvement in co-curricular and community service activities.
• Minimum GPA typically 2.0 or higher (requirements vary by specific scholarship).
• U.S. citizenship is required.
Application Deadlines for the 2025–2026 Cycle:
The application period this cycle is as follows:
• High School Seniors: December 1, 2025 — February 15, 2026
• High School Juniors: December 1, 2025 — March 1, 2026
In addition to the student application, counselor and support provider forms are generally due shortly after the student deadlines (e.g., within a few days of closing) — e.g., counselor/support forms due by February 20 (seniors) and March 6 (juniors) in this cycle.

• The Horatio Alger Scholarship not only provides financial support, but students also gain access to a national network, mentoring resources, and professional development opportunities.

The Dick Weiss Scholarships were first awarded in 2001 in honor of retired Athletic Director, Mr. Richard Weiss, former CHS teacher, coach and community leader to recognize two senior student athletes (one female and one male) who demonstrate excellence in all areas of academics, athletics, leadership and sportsmanship. The winners are awarded $2000 each for their continued education. Their names are added to the plaque that hangs on the wall in the Athletic foyer of CHS. Scholarships are awarded at the spring commencement ceremony.

James Watkins was a 1958 graduate of Canfield High School. hew was a proud alumni who became the Superintendent of Canfield Local School District for over 26 years. He was an athlete who participated in numerous sports during his time at CHS and later attended Hiram College where he played four years of basketball. He had a strong belief in student athlete and this scholarship is for thos students who excelled in high school athletics. Mr. Watkins' two children and two of his grandchildren are proud CHS alumni. This scholarship is for $1000 and you must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.

The Ohio Natural Energy Institute is proud to provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the natural gas and oil industry.
Each scholarship is worth $1,500 per year with a total of four years of potential eligibility. The minimum scholarship applicant criteria include:
– Must be a U.S. citizen.
– Must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry.
– Must be an OHIO resident OR a student attending, or planning to attend, an accredited OHIO college, university, technical or trade school.
– Must have and maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or higher.
Applications are accepted January 1 - March 1 of each year.
