We invite parents and students interested in trying out for Cheerleading to join Coach Ambrosia-George, Coach Marsco, and Coach Hudock in a Pre-Tryout Informational Meeting on March 11, 2026 at 6 pm in the CHS Media Center.
All girls who expect to tryout must complete the Tryout Application form by March 25, 2026 AND bring the signed athlete and parent signature from the Acknowledgement and Contract
During tryouts girls will be given a questionnaire to complete prior to the formal evaluation. Two of the requirements are to know the CHS Alma Mater, Fight Song and sport basics. Please reference the hard copy given during the informational meeting and/or during clinics.
If you have lost the hard copy please reference the Alma Mater and Fight Song to the right.
Canfield High School Teachers and CVMS 8th grade teachers (for Incoming freshman) will be asked to complete a confidential teacher evaluation from regarding the candidates attitude, attendance, leadership, and work ethic. We would like to thank all teachers in advance for completing this form.
Cheerleading involves A LOT of additional time and is seen as an all year sport, we kindly ask you look at the tentative calendar to see how busy Cheer can be before trying out. The last thing anyone wants is to have a spot taken for someone who cannot commit to the time cheer requires. That being said, if you are in a non-school related extra curricular, missing a cheer related event is considered unexcused and can result in dismissal from the squad (see cheer contract for more information).
