Starting a New Year

How do you envision Google Classroom supporting your work as a teacher?
How do you want your students to utilize Google Classroom? As a reference for notes? As a place to find missing assignments? As a collaborative work space for small groups and individuals?
What information do you want students to have at their fingertips?
How do you want to organize information in your Google Classroom?

Open your Google Classroom
From the dashboard locate the three small dots in the upper right corner of a class tile
Select "Archive" from the drop-down menu
This will remove the old classroom from your dashboard. You can view this classroom by selecting the three lines on the upper left corner of the dashboard screen and scrolling to archived classes. After archiving you can view the class, but you cannot remove any items.

Log into WenGage
From the Home screen select the Sync Google Classroom Tab
Select the sections you wish to sync
Select the "sync" button in the upper right hand corner
Notify the Instructional Coach or admin secretary if you receive an error message.
Go To Google Classroom and you will see your new Classes.
Begin organizing and posting assignments

Report any error messages to Mrs. Berwaldt
Both Wen-Gage and Google Classroom can function independently, just as you have used them in the past.
Check the Settings on the new Classrooms that Wen-Gage creates, regarding student post options.
Create assignments in Wen-Gage FIRST, then build on the "shell" in Google Classroom.
Once in the Google Classroom assignment you cannot send to multiple classes or it will build a new assignment. Each "shell" must be set up independently.
You must RETURN the assignment in Google Classroom before you can pull grades.
Step by step assignment creation:
- Start in Gradebook
- Create assignment (From the lesson plan or score screen)
- Add to Google Classroom from score screen (Click the AGC button at the top of the assignment)
  - You will need to click this button for each class the assignment is being applied to.
- Go to Google Classroom
- Select the class/classwork and you will see the assignment shell (draft).
- Edit the draft by adding instructions, attachments, points, and topics
- Schedule/Assign to that class ONLY. Repeat steps for editing remaining shells.
- Grade the assignment in Classroom
- Return the assignment in Classroom
- Return to Gradebook
- Scores screen select Assign Google Classroom Points button

When you get a new student, you will want to Re-Sync your Google Classroom to add the new student. (This does NOT change anything else in your Google Classroom!

Go to the Home screen on WenGage

-->Select Sync Google Classroom

-->Select the Hour the new student is in

-->Select Sync

You should get a message that the student has been added.

Create a Google Form Quiz ****REMEMBER: Student Name is always the first question.*****
Add the Google Form to your Google Classroom
Once students take the quiz, return to Google Classroom
Open the assignment and select the Import Grades Button
All student's grades will be imported to your Google Classroom.

Archive process:

Select the skittles in the upper right corner (three small dots) on the class tile
Select Archive
