CTE is a statewide program focusing on offering education to prepare and support students in acquiring the skills, practices, and knowledge critical for success in highly skilled careers. Career and Technical Education embraces education, passion, and curiosity to fuel the future for Oregon students.
At CHS we have implemented a unique CTE program where we educate and then integrate high school students (cadets) in our childcare programs to give them hands on opportunities to observe, learn and participate in early childhood development and teaching.
Students that successfully complete 3 credits in the early child development classes will earn:
Certificate of Completion for highly qualified in ECE
Graduation Cord
Food Handlers Card
Certification in First Aid/CPR
Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect Certification

Each class is .5 credit elective. Students must take all of the following classes to be an ECE Completer.
