Ron Hering Mission of Service Award

Ron Hering (1936-1993) was one of the founders of the ManKind Project, helping to create and lead the New Warrior Training Adventure. Ron was passionate about Mission, Purpose, and Service. This award was established in his name to honor those among us who are living their missions through action in the world.

One of the primary outcomes of the New Warrior Training Adventure is a man connecting with his own personal sense of purpose in the world. From this he writes a personal mission statement to help him direct his passion and energy. For many men this personal mission translates into action in the world. The Ron Hering Award recognizes this action.

Each year since 1998 the Ron Hering Mission of Service Award has been presented to one man or group of men  from each Region / Area who is breathing life into outstanding Missions of Service in the world. Winners of the award have positively impacted millions of people through their service. And the services they have given cover every area of human endeavor.
